THE LUCK

The Luck

The Luck are London-born brother-sister indie folk duo Max and Esmay Luck. The sibling’s shared passion for music permeated their lives from an early age, as they found inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel, and Crosby Stills & Nash. As children, they both learned to play an extensive array of instruments, including cello, harp, piano, guitar and bass. After blending their talents as The Luck in 2011, the duo captivated crowds at hundreds of shows around the UK and Europe before heading to their current home in California. Their new sun-soaked surroundings have had a clear influence on their sound, as well as their influence from iconic California songwriters, such as Joni Mitchell and Jim Morrison. Since relocating to the U.S., the duo continues to enthrall audiences with the same energy of their popular street performances abroad. In the past two years, The Luck has also entertained fans at legendary West Coast venues, including The Troubador, Hotel Cafe, and the Viper Room. This past summer, The Luck captured the spontaneity of their live sound through “Live at Dave’s Room,” a live video series recorded by Grammy Award winner, David Bianco (Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman). Their TRUE NORTH EP recorded with producer Paul Broucek and three-time Grammy winning engineer, Ed Cherney (The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton), is set for release September 30th, 2016.
